Frequently Asked Questions Explained

Yes, completing a Level 7 diploma often provides a pathway to Chartered Manager (CMgr) status through bodies like the CMI (Chartered Management Institute) or helps meet the academic requirements for various senior professional fellowships.

Absolutely. In fact, being in a full-time senior role is an advantage. Since the qualification is evidence-based, you gather the required documentation (strategic plans, meeting minutes, and leadership reports) during your normal working day. There are no scheduled classes or exams to attend.

The Level 7 Diploma has a TQT of 450 hours, with 156 Guided Learning Hours (GLH). However, because you are proving existing competence, much of this time is spent organizing evidence you have already produced in your professional capacity.

If you have a complex project that is difficult to document on paper, you can have a recorded Professional Discussion with your assessor. This allows you to verbally explain your strategic decision-making process, which counts as valid evidence toward your diploma.

As long as your new role still allows you to function at a strategic or senior management level, you can continue your NVQ. You would simply begin collecting evidence from your new workplace to complete any remaining units.
